Concert Producer Hyperglow Teams Up with Blockparty to Offer Safer Ticketing Process on the Blockchain

They are a scourge on the ticketing event industry: lengthy check-in protocols, ticket fraud and secondary resellers. Yet, despite advances in technology event goers are still faced with bots and fraudulent sites, which is impacting confidence in ticket authenticity.

In order to offer event attendees a safe, more secure ticketing experience, Hyperglow, a concert production company, is teaming up with Blockparty, a blockchain-based live ticketing organisation. The move to integrate the blockchain comes as Hyperglow celebrates its five-year anniversary, and before its upcoming three-city tour.

Taking place in November and December, the locations announced so far are Syracuse, NY at The Westcott Theatre on November 8th and Niagara Falls, NY at The Rapids Theater on November 9th.

Combining high energy EDM (electronic dance music), with live art, body painting, and sound design, Hyperglow has become a must-do among college students. Created in 2013, Hyperglow is now turning its attention to the blockchain to revamp the ticketing industry.

“Our millennial audience is very forward thinking and are early adopters of new technologies”, said Claude Elie, CEO of Hyperglow Tour. “Cryptocurrencies are arguably one of the world’s hottest technologies right now and we felt that we wanted to be at the forefront of it within our community.”

Since the launch of its new global ticketing system in May, Blockparty is continually working at eradicating the problems that impact the confidence of users. It has also launched its mobile app in the Apple App Store, enabling users to buy events tickets, transfer them, and get rewarded for bringing friends, and more.

By leveraging the blockchain, the platform aims to improve the ticketing process for concerts, sporting events, and festivals. Already Blockparty has been used at a number of live events and festivals, including the world’s first crypto poker tournament, and Elements Music and Art Festival, which took place in New York in August. Earlier this month, Blockparty was used to ticket the whole of Miami’s first-ever Best Life Festival.

Speaking of the partnership, Shiv Madan, CEO of Blockparty, said that this shows Hyperglows commitment to innovation and that users don’t need prior knowledge of how the blockchain works. All that’s needed is a smartphone and the Blockparty app.

“Hyperglow event goers will no longer need to worry about massive resale prices on tickets or being forced to wait in tiresome lines with ticket verification and can instead focus on enjoying the party”, he added.
